Product Care

Your Mitchel Primrose purchase is 100% genuine exotic leather. Please see each category below for care instructions, specific to the different types of exotic leather we use to craft our products.

It is important to note, our products are designed and handcrafted for durability, comfort, and long-term wear. Your item may feel slightly rigid, or a little tough to open/close when it is new. This is normal. Your Mitchel Primrose jewelry and accessories will easily begin to break-in and mold themselves to your shape within the first few wears.

When your item is not in use, we recommend storing your jewelry pieces in the closed position to maintain their shape. And always store your handbags, jewelry, and accessories in their included dust bags to prevent the accumulation of dust & dirt.

Caring for Alligator

The majority of alligator finishes we produce are among the most durable and repairable skins you will find. We recommend cleaning with a dry or slightly damp (not wet) cloth, to keep your piece in good condition. You may also use a high quality leather polish to return the leather close to its original condition. Over the course of time and continued wear, alligator (as with other leathers) develops a "patina" or slightly aged effect. This is normal, and does not compromise the integrity or durability of the skin.

You may take to a skilled leather-care professional for any of these services.

Note: Our Antique White Alligator has been specially treated to remain water resistant. This water resistant coating is for the exterior alligator surface only. We never recommend submerging or soaking your item in liquid of any kind. Please clean with a slightly damp (not wet) cloth to remove dirt and/or stains.

>> Please do not use any wax cleaners, or apply paint/leather stripper to the product. This will damage your item permanently. Please also avoid any quick-fix products, spray-on products, and any product promising to return leather items to their "original shine".

Caring for Glossy Lizard & Snake

We recommend cleaning gently with a dry cloth, and avoid applying pressure when doing so. The gloss finish will age with wear and time and may become more dull. This is a natural aging process of the leather. With continual wear and proper care, this process will happen gradually and your piece will age evenly and take on a uniform appearace. If your item is exposed to liquid of any kind, it will speed this aging process and you may notice an uneven appearance in the shine. With continued wear, this will even itself out.

It is important to note that with snakeskin, it is normal for the scales to slightly lift and ruffle. This characteristic does not compromise the integrity or durability of the skin.

Caring for Matte Lizard & Snake

We recommend cleaning with a dry or slightly damp (not wet) cloth. Do not apply any polishes or professional products as they may permanently change the color and pattern of your piece. Similar to alligator, matte finish lizard and snake pieces will develop a "patina" with time and continued wear. This slightly aged effect is a natural characteristic and part of the skins aging process.
